What does it mean to sin against the spirit?

this was always one of the most confusing and troubling doctrines when i was a jw.

i heard the phrase many times, but it was never adequately explained what it meant.

i often wondered if i had committed such a sin, and if i could really not be forgiven.. how does one know if they have sinned against the holy spirit?

How does one know if they have sinned against the holy spirit? And what makes this sin unforgiveable, as opposed to murder, rape, or any other gross sin?

Vengance is Mine says GOD ALMIGHTY.......

To forgive is to allow their error to pass without punishment. A sin against The Holy Spirit is an "intentional" violation of GOD's law, without remorse or repentance. Satan is NOT forgiven for intentional acts and blasphemy against the Holy Spirt or GOD THE ALMIGHTY. Therefore satan will recieve all that is righteous in punishment.

One who knows that is is wrong to kill and does it intentionally, will reap what they sow as it is written. They will recieve punishment from GOD THE ALMIGHTY. An unintentional act is one that is done out of weakness or overwhelming emotions. If you have a weakness in the flesh and you sin or violate the law, you are forgiven. This is because your senses overcame you in the heat of passion.

One that is weak in faith and finds it difficult to believe in GOD is forgiven. One that accepts that GOD is Living is held accountable in their error and must confess their sins. Once they repent they are forgiven.......

during the time in which they died, they were never taught "the truth", as everything changed.. any jw today, looking forward to armageddon coming tomorrow, isn't being taught "the truth" either, as will be made manifest by more doctrinal change.

With regards your comments to ATJ. "Who are you to judge, do you have an answer to everything under the sun?". The difference is that ATJ does not profess that he is the way, and the only way.

Right you are SOM. However, that "thinking" should probably follow along a path, that still leads in one direction. Perhaps a "refinement" on that particualr "way of thinking", not so many constant flip flops. It would also help if these "new ways of thinking", did not require the religion in question to be dishonest about prior teachings.

ATJ plainly stated that all of their answers were wrong. So he has concluded and passed his own judgment on them, did he not? Jesus Christ taught us not to judge one another did he not? It is better to state the truth whereas I can testify to the fact that not all of their answers are wrong. I learned many teaching from the faith known as JW's and can say that many teachings are correct.

When you call a teaching a doctrine, what exactly does that mean to you? It is true and I do agree that the foundation for one of their main beliefs did change. Such as the faithful slave being one man in Russels case to stating that it now included 144,000. Where in the world did they arrive with that belief or teaching?

I am sure you might be able to provide examples of where the W.T.S. flip-flopped so-to-speak but why? Once you disagree with their teaching simply follow what you believe and let them follow theirs. This is the same as someone that is pagan. For some reason or another they chose to believe in that manner. GOD will correct the thinking of all of his creation from the heavens down to the earth.

Do not hate your brother if they choose to believe this way or that. Hate what is bad like it is written and flea from it. However learn to love another human being with compassion. That is the teaching of GOD and His Christ is it not?

While JW's have an answer for everything (even if they happen to all be wrong answers) this is absolutely 100% common sense. It is a simple formula, the truth, the real truth, doesn't change.

That sound you hear is either the GB's ego deflating, or a massive group GB fart. (could be one and the same....)

You are correct, truth does not change. However evidence to support a new way of thinking can be found and thus can change a persons beliefs. Again no single relgion has the truth.......

You are incorrect however where you say the all of the answers provided by the JW's are all wrong. In this case you are not standing on the side of truth but are providing a biased opinion. Who are you to judge, do you have an answer to everything under the sun?

Where does it say that only the righteous will be resurrected? There will be a resurrection of the "dead" or all that have died in the past. No single religious organization has the "truth". Many might be in search of truth but no single person knows the teachings in its entirety. Jesus Christ is our savior, he was not raised to destroy us.

Wars, earthquakes and famines are not signs of the end

in the late 1960s and early 1970s, i wrote my study, 1914 and all that.

in it, i stated that at matthew 24 jesus warned his followers against seeing wars, earthquakes and famines as being signs.

i have not wavered from that position, which i have given in my posts here at times.. .

Is this conversation between Issac and Spike between two people that know each other? I am familar with the J.W. procedure of announcing a disfellowship or disassociation. A head injury of some sort where the organization might be held liable is not a part of the same process. That is something that becomes a legal matter and is handled in a wordly fashion by mens courts not GOD's. I wil tell you GOD's perspective if I gather more information on the matter.......

And as I was sitting here I hear my garage door open. I then hear steps and turn around to my left. I see a person dressed in black seemingly with long hair. They turn to their left and proceed to walk up the stairs. I then hear a door open and close from what I thought was at the top of the stairs.

A few minutes later my roommate comes into the kitchen where I am seated, and I ask if her guest had arrived. She then states that no one is here. I immediately call out for my son and look to see if he was the one that arrived. I see no one, so I call him on his cell only to learn that he is not at my residence. He had been here earlier with a guest, as they were out sitting in the hot tub in our complex. So I proceeded to search the entire home from the top to bottom and in each room. There is no one to be found.

This is one of the most vivid of visions I have ever seen, and only relate it to:

A THIEF IN THE NIGHT.......

Pray that is signifies the arrival of JESUS CHRIST OUT OF THE EAST.......AMEN

Wars, Famine, Lawlessness, Disobedient Children, Never Ending Sign For End Of the World?

when one reads the bible and what it says about the end of the world as a sign that it is very close, and the fact that it can be applied to every generation.

things such as earthquakes, human nature, war between ruling institutions, famine, even ridicule from nonbelievers is used by some books in the bible as the evidence for belief in the end of the world and such ridicule is taken as a fulfillment sign that the end will come.

well if that is a proof that the end will come then what about all those centuries where bible readers were saying the end is near did it come for their generations?

I love birds as well, and who is dilusional one who sees all things for what they are. or one who denies all out of fear? I live in reality whereas many are blinded like the non-believer.
